Thermal underwear is a must and there is a wide range to choose from. Next comes a middle layer such as a soft, lightweight thermal fleece. These are wonderfully comfortable and feel good next to the skin as well as being quick drying and versatile.

It is also breathable so you stay dry and comfortable.

 Don’t forget your gloves.  If you suffer with very cold hands it s possible to buy lightweight thermal inner liners that go inside snowboard or ski gloves so giving you and extra layer of warmth. You will also need a warm pair of thermal socks. Cold feet are miserable so make sure you invest in a really good pair.

 Remember that most of the body’s heat is lost through the head and back region, so you’ll need a scarf and hat too.
